About

Driven by a belief that music should be felt, not just heard, SMR blends storytelling, vocal texture. Sensual Music Recordings was founded by Producer and Songwriter Mocape (Mohan Carl Peters) where the expression of soul, sensuality and sound craft meet. The aim is firstly to create music that resonate with people around the world and secondly to also make available licensing of songs for artist placement and sync licensing. Collaborating with vocalists, producers and instrumentalists our music is born from a belief that music should be felt, not just heard. Blending deep house, R&B, Soul, Jazz and World Music textures into music to create an intimate, evocative and emotionally alive.

At Sensual Music Recordings, we apply a deliberate form of human–AI teaming that enables human-flourishing, the belief that AI should assist, not replace, human creativity. This approach directly reflects the emerging research in human–AI teaming, which forms part of our the founders’s ongoing research work into Creative Human-AI teaming.

Every track begins with 100% human songwriting, lyricism, arrangement, beats and elements. AI is introduced after the core is established to enhance specific sonic elements, generate remix variations or enrich textures. Vocal performances are either originally recorded or human-designed, then AI-enhanced for tonal character or stylisation. Instrumentation and sound design are human-led but may be expanded in remixes through generative AI tools. AI mastering is used as a first pass but always followed by human remastering. All of this because aesthetic judgment, emotional timing and subtlety are still best handled by human ears.

Our aim in is to challenge the narrative of human vs machine. The similar challenge that EDM music first received when it hit the dance floors and air waves over 30 yeras ago, today EDM is a cornerstone of music production with millions of fans worldwide. Through embracing technology and applying human-AI teaming philosophies and concepts we intend to enhance human output.

As we are not only making music for humans to enjoy but also to help human-artists with their artistry, we have therefore created artistic identities such as (The Soulisters). Each identity reflects a different emotional archetype and genre. All songs are human written, produced and arranged.
